Politics and party hats

I thought I’d start the day by jumping in on the political opinion-party. I see all of you sporting those smooth party hats as you post your thoughts on Facebook — while you may or may not know, I am a party hat collector and self-assigned critic.

I cannot sit in silence any longer – give me one of those sweet party hats.

The Ultimate Reality – You Are the Entire Cosmos

I am 36 years old.
The Earth has completed 36 rotations around the sun during my physical existence. The ultimate carnival ride, right?

As a child, I was continually exposed to Christianity. It started early. If my memory serves me well, I’d say it began at the age of 5 or 6.

On Sundays, my family and I would attend church services. My brother and I attended “Sunday School” at the church before the sermon. I guess the reason for this was to mold our young, innocent minds?
Sunday School was strange. I recall feeling

Character Differences and Religious Beliefs Should Not Divide Us.

You and I are connected in ways beyond our comprehension.

Beautifully mysterious, isn’t it?

You and I are working together subconsciously¬†— all the time.

What that work is, I can’t say for sure but, I do know we have a common purpose.

I wish I could explain it. It would make things easier, wouldn’t it? But, as you and I both know — we aren’t meant to fully understand it. Not yet…

How often do you check-in with yourself?

Hey, how are you feeling today?

How many times have you been asked this question? If you’re like most people when you encounter this quick, passing-by, hello to a colleague or friend, this is the default conversation we’re all familiar with:

“Hey! Good morning! How are you?”
“Hey! I’m good, how are you?”
“Not too bad, thanks!”
“That’s great…Well, have a good day!”
“Hey, thanks — you too!”

Heard that exchange before? Yeah, me too.

Of course, the dialogue may differ slightly depending on who you’re talking to but the overall theme is the same. It’s a quick exchange of information that really doesn’t hold much substance but, we do it to acknowledge each other’s presence.

Comfortable within

I want you to envision a tiny version of yourself sitting in your mind. If you want an example of what mine looks like; I sit on the top row of the bleachers.

The bleachers are above my left ear facing in. I barely move in either realm. I sit quietly and observe my thoughts. I have zero judgments or opinions as I watch. Each thought, or set of thoughts, come in from the right side through my ear. Sometimes it gets loud — it’s okay. That’s normal

The Path and the Quest – Complexity is False Belief

african-eve-1477279I woke up this morning with a clear connection. After a few moments of quiet contemplation, I had a thought. What is my true desire? What is the deeply rooted passion that shines from my spirit?

This question shows up often throughout the course of my life. I am sure you can relate. We all have those thoughts about our life-purpose. We all occasionally think about these things. We’ve all received feedback from others about what we should do with our lives.

Awakened to a Cosmic Riddle.

autumn-sunriseHave you ever risen in the morning, after a 6-8 hour sleep session, and felt as if your spirit spent the night away from your body? That happened to me this morning. I spent the last 30 minutes or so talking to a drawing of a fish (my son drew it for me) and asking him/her how I could explain this experience in writing. More specifically – in a way that would make sense.
The reason I felt compelled to discuss this with an inanimate object is because I often get my best advice from things that do not speak. Or listen. Or understand…I suppose I just need something to look at while I am thinking.
