Politics and party hats

I thought I’d start the day by jumping in on the political opinion-party. I see all of you sporting those smooth party hats as you post your thoughts on Facebook — while you may or may not know, I am a party hat collector and self-assigned critic.

So…

I cannot sit in silence any longer – give me one of those sweet party hats.

The Genetically Engineered Human Organism

flowersGreetings, my friend. I hope this post finds you feeling well and your cosmic vibrations are resonating at a high level. I hope your creative energy is being spent in a way that gives you a sense of purpose and pride.

As humans, we are directly connected to our environment. By connected, I am referring to a dependence upon the vitamins and minerals it produces naturally. In turn, the environment is dependent upon us to consume its resources. We come from the same process of creation and all of it, our physical shells and the consumption we require, are all connected. Consumption includes everything from the air we breathe to the food we consume.

Nature is the Answer. Always Has Been – Always Will Be.

Jack Herer, also known as ‘The Hemperor,’ offered a $100,000 challenge to the world to prove him wrong.

The Challenge: $100,000

If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and construction, were banned in order to save the planet, reverse the greenhouse effect and stop deforestation; Then there is only one known annually renewable resource that is capable of providing the overall majority of the world’s paper and textiles; meet all of the world’s transportation, industrial, and home energy needs – while simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil, and cleaning the atmosphere all at the same time…And that substance is – the same one that did it all before – Cannabis Hemp – Marijuana.

Sponsored by: H.E.M.P. (America), HANF HAUS (Germany), SENSI SEEDS/HASH MARIJUANA MUSEUM (Holland), and T.H.C., THE TEXAS HEMP CAMPAIGN (America) Visit Jack Herer’s website for more details:

If you can prove him wrong, you will be $100,000 richer. (Jack Herer – June 18, 1939 – April 15, 2010) Rest in peace, Sir. Your work and dedication will forever be admired by millions.

The reason Jack put such a large sum of money up in this challenge is because it’s impossible to prove him wrong – because he’s right. Each of the examples he gives in this challenge can be broken down into many subsections.

The path to personal enlightenment may seem elusive – but it’s not.

There are many avenues that consistently move us closer. Maybe an extra 10 minutes of gazing at the clouds while being consumed with awe and amazement, secretly sending positive vibes and love to a stranger, or by staying silent and listening to your thoughts. It’s constant progress but the most important thing is that awareness and personal growth remain routine.
There are many pathways to choose. On this path – we discover fragments of our true nature. Something that ignites a fire in your gut and gets hotter as you put your attention on it. This is when you know you are on to something.

Nature vs. Culture – The Pointless Debate.

8024204583_8e73794f18_mI read a story recently and I want to share it with you. It takes place at Woodland Park Zoo here in Seattle and was written by a local wife and mother of 2. Enjoy:

This past Saturday was nice. We took the kids to the zoo and had a great time. It was a great family outing yet we felt exhausted  when we got home. There was an interesting thing that happened while we were relaxing on a bench near the Elephant exhibit – which, by the way, is amazing! They have added to it and it now has 12 elephants, 3 of them are babies. Extremely cute one’s too! So anyway, the interesting thing was this: One of the baby elephants was getting milk from its Mother. They were standing off to the side of the small lake that is in the exhibit. After a few minutes, 2 of the full-grown elephants marched over to the Mother that was breast-feeding and began nudging the child away from getting her milk. Once they got the baby away from the Mother, the 2 elephants then proceeded to nudge and push the breast-feeding mother into a small, isolated cave. The baby followed the mother. So, at this point, the mother and child are tucked away from all the other elephants and the 2 pushy elephants walked back to their original spot and continued doing what they were doing.

Mind, Body, and Writing – The Essential Triangle.

sunsetI’ve spent a considerable amount of time reading lately. Reading about writing. Blog posts, articles, books, etc.

Last week I had a short-lived, moderate anxiety spell. I know why it happened – in fact, I knew why, as it was happening. This fact didn’t stop it from occurring though. I believe it was part of the process to understanding balance. I was in an all-out sprint for well over 2 weeks.
