What have I learned so far?

  • Stretch often, work hard, but always play harder than you work.
  • Life is strange – as it should be. Embrace that mystery.
  • At any given moment – life is playing beautiful music. Don’t forget to dance with the present note.
  • Your experience is the only one that matters. Do not lose sight of this.
  • Remember this: regardless of how much time you spend on making those important decisions in life – in the end, a snap judgment is made in the moment.

So…

Does Time Heal all Wounds? What Wounds and What is Time?

Galactic Pyrotechnics

Galactic Pyrotechnics

April is here.
I am here.
You are here.
So – what time is it where you are?
What’s the universal time?

What is the deal with time?

Specifically, the phrase, “Time heals all wounds.” This is one of those phrases that, I believe, is responsible for the disempowering effects that our language has produced.

It’s Difficult to See Life’s Perfections When You’re Focusing on Imperfections.

butterflyI heard a quote recently that has impacted and inspired me. Steve Jobs quoted it in a speech but, I do not know the original source — the quote is this:

“If you live each day as if it were your last, one day you’re sure to be right. “

I have read and heard many great quotes over the years but, there is something about this one that feels like a left jab to my chin. Something that has one motive – and that motive is to wake me up to what it means to be fully alive and experiencing this ride.

Code Sain. The Writing Journal Journey

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-05-16-44-12-1-1-1.pngCompassion. Dedication. Sacrifice. Intent.

Once upon a time on a dark and stormy night – I ponder, for hours, on how I can start a post about these 4 key elements.
Then it dawns on me — “Look in your private journal!”
I jump up and run to my desk. I sit down in my chair, scan the desk, and it occurs to me that I don’t even have a private journal.

That instant reaction to check something that I didn’t own at the time was a clear indication — It was time for a change.

A Social Media Compilation and Some News.

wpid-20150912_150316.jpgHello, my friends!
I have a few pieces in work – expect to see the first by Tuesday evening or Wednesday afternoon.
The adventure has, unfortunately, delayed work on the blog. I don’t want to try to explain (and most likely bore you) with the details.
Rest assured, though, the posts will show up more often as we move forward. Regular blog postings are essential.
I haven’t told anyone about the plans I have. Yay for secrets! Don’t worry – the secret will be out soon – and you’re going to love it.

Be Still and Listen – You Already Have the Answers.

thinking-304955-mLife is short. We hear this sentiment often, don’t we? What does it really mean, though? When people say this, I believe they are referring to living a fearless type of lifestyle. Not wreck-less, but fearless. Purely intentional – stretching yourself and testing your own beliefs on limitations placed into your mind by a structured system.
This is what I believe is often lost in translation – Embrace the unknown.
When you stretch yourself, more specifically your mind – you put yourself in a state of feeling mentally uncomfortable or spiritually unsure. This feeling of discomfort is necessary.

Nature is the Answer. Always Has Been – Always Will Be.

Jack Herer, also known as ‘The Hemperor,’ offered a $100,000 challenge to the world to prove him wrong.

The Challenge: $100,000

If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and construction were banned in order to save the planet, reverse the greenhouse effect and stop deforestation; Then there is only one known annually renewable resource that is capable of providing the overall majority of the world’s paper and textiles; meet all of the world’s transportation, industrial, and home energy needs – while simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil, and cleaning the atmosphere all at the same time…And that substance is – the same one that did it all before – Cannabis Hemp – Marijuana.

Sponsored by: H.E.M.P. (America), HANF HAUS (Germany), SENSI SEEDS/HASH MARIJUANA MUSEUM (Holland), and T.H.C., THE TEXAS HEMP CAMPAIGN (America) Visit Jack Herer’s website for more details:

 www.jackherer.com

If you can prove him wrong, you will be $100,000 richer. (Jack Herer – June 18, 1939 – April 15, 2010) Rest in peace, Sir. Your work and dedication will forever be admired by millions.

The reason Jack put such a large sum of money up in this challenge is because it’s impossible to prove him wrong – because he’s right. Each of the examples he gives in this challenge can be broken down into many subsections.

You Are a Genius – So Am I and So Are We – They Are Too.

wallhaven-181481-1080x1920

What is 1+2? What is the value of 1? What is the value of 2? If we take the value of 1 and add it to the value of 2, what is the outcome? Given what we have learned throughout our lives, the value we get is 3. Now, my question is this – Do you accept that?

Is there any part of your mind that has a desire to question it or are you 100% sold on 1+2=3? If you do have, even a slight hesitation to accept it, then you’re on the right track.

Where Did I Leave That Skeleton Key?

wpid-img_20150222_101824.jpg

When a river floods due to an excess of rain, there is water on surrounding land that ultimately becomes a disruption for many creatures – as well as the lake itself. Life in these areas must now quickly adapt to this change or seek shelter until the water subsides – which, in turn, delays their life work. Even if it’s only a few hours.

If you pour a glass of lemonade into a cup and continue pouring after it has reached the brim, there will be lemonade all over the kitchen counter. This is a less severe “flooding” example.  Now your main focus, instead of drinking a delicious glass of lemonade, is trying to remember where you put the paper towels. Who wants to clean when there is a glass of lemonade screaming “Drink me!?” Not me.

These 2 lessons are different in nature but offer the same lesson in life.

Mind, Body, and Writing – The Essential Triangle.

sunsetI’ve spent a considerable amount of time reading lately. Reading about writing. Blog posts, articles, books, etc.

Last week I had a short-lived, moderate anxiety spell. I know why it happened – in fact, I knew why, as it was happening. This fact didn’t stop it from occurring though. I believe it was part of the process to understanding balance. I was in an all-out sprint for well over 2 weeks.
