I had an interesting thought today about the human brain and the belief system we all share. At the end of yesterday’s post, I mentioned the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind stores information from the conditioning stages of life — mostly when we are youngsters. Every belief we hold in our mind is based on two factors. One is our culture and the second is how interactive we are with those beliefs. Anyway, on that note, one must wonder what is truly real. I also wonder how much of those beliefs transfer over, if they do at all, to the next phase of existence.

Welcome to day 5. One-sixth of the way into this challenge of adding to my blog for 31 straight days, with a minimum word count of 500 for each post. It’s not much at all, I write another 1500 off the blog every day. I am finding it challenging to make sure this is complete every day though, but I love the challenge. It’s been fun.

Anyway, to continue with my thought from above:
We are extremely complex beings. We are more complex than we realize. I feel most people don’t really understand that the thoughts they have and the beliefs they have are really nothing more than conditioned attributes of the self. From the moment we are infants, we are gathering the information that ultimately gets stored in our subconscious minds.

I’ll give you an example — How many of you think it’s okay to kill, chop up, and eat a human being? None? That’s what I thought. We’ll, there are cultures who believe that it’s not only okay but also it’s moral. In fact, they find it immoral and strange that others don’t do this. So, why is this?

They were raised to believe it. It’s what they know. So, there is no set belief system in the universe about what is moral or immoral. The mind accepts what it’s taught, especially through visual confirmations. It’s a tough concept for people to understand because it goes against everything they believe. Again, you only believe those things because you were conditioned to believe them. There isn’t a universal code. The only true universal code, in my opinion, is love. But, even love is expressed differently across  cultural divides.

My thought today took this information a bit further. I wondered, since our reality is created by our thoughts, if our afterlife reality is also somehow created by these thoughts and beliefs. The universe could be an ever-expanding realm of consciousness capable of creating an infinite number of possibilities. There is no disproving this theory yet there is no proving it either. It’s just an idea, but it’s certainly one that will take your mind to some incredible places.

The older I get, the more I understand that it’s important to explore these things in your mind. To get out of the mundane and take yourself on a ride with your imagination in the driver’s seat. Be infinitely curious and do not be limited by false beliefs. If there is a universal creator, I think it’s certain he/she/it wants us to do that. Why? Because we are capable of it and it’s not harming anyone. He/she/it created something beyond imagination…and it’s called consciousness. It’s constantly evolving and so should we. Allow your mind to fly through the eye, from the cosmos. #my500words
