Hello, my friends. So, here’s the deal – I’ve had this blog up for a few days. I’ve spent hours messing with everything (messing up everything too) and it occurred to me, I may need some assistance with the features. So – here I am.
My name is Matthew. I am a writer. I’ve approached writing in many ways over the years – but the one thing that has remained constant is my love for words and the craft.
I write short stories, slowly working my way into the world of freelance writing and I have a novel under construction. (Nearly complete with first draft)
The post below is the test post. Thanks for your time and thanks for reading.
I believe we all have something that makes us unique. That uniqueness connects to passion. That passion is the universal or spiritual connection to our soul. When that energy takes over and the conscious mind begins to focus on it, some remarkable things unfold. Inspiration is abundant. It’s not that the inspiration manifests through external means. It’s that, internally, that connection opens up a thought process or a different perspective on what we are seeing – which then connects itself to that passionate journey we are on.
Finding inspiration in a beautiful, sunny day is great but, finding inspiration on a cloudy, rainy day is even greater. It’s the perspective. It’s nature. It’s internal. What do I believe? Do I put limits on myself before attempting something? Do I convince myself, through my thoughts and inner-dialogue, that I can not achieve a specific goal?
Anything is possible. I know this is a cliché phrase, I get that. It is the truth, though. If there is a dream you have, a goal, a passionate hunger that never goes away, a “voice” in your mind that reminds you of it – Get after it.
Keep swinging. If that passion is there, it’s inevitable that you will eventually make solid contact and put one in the center field bleachers.
You better believe that I will be there with my gigantic foam finger that has your name on it too!
Much love, my friends.
