AWAI Project – Letter to Wayne

The World-Renowned SkyCity – Classy Dining with a Spin and
A True Puget Sound View.

500 feet above the rest since 1962.

Dr. Wayne Dyer –

Greetings to you, my good friend!

I can only assume that Maui is still treating you well, is that an accurate assumption?

The Pacific Ocean is your front yard, it can’t be too bad, right?
(I will be back to visit soon…it’s so beautiful there!)

I’ll get straight to the point – I know 2 facts about you:
1) You will be in Seattle in less than 2 weeks.
2) You thrive on life’s “not-so-typical” adventures.

Putting these 2 facts together – I have devised a simple yet unforgettable experience for you, Wayne.

I guarantee, after we do this – you will have a new, favorite travel story to tell.

But first – l have a question for you:
Have you ever dined in a restaurant that sits 500 feet above the ground and slowly rotates to give you panoramic views as you eat?

Well, I know of a place that does!
Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? It kind of is crazy but the awesome outweighs the crazy, for sure!

Wait – there’s more…

Have you ever dined in a restaurant with an observation deck directly above the dining area?

The deck I am referring to offers fantastic views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, The Cascade Mountains, and The Olympic Mountains – all while standing in one spot!

While standing in that spot – you can look down and see one of the most beautiful cities in the country. You’ll get a better understanding of why they call this The Emerald City.

This place features some of the most exquisite food on the west coast!

I know, I know – enough already, right?
What is this gem called?

SkyCity is Seattle’s World-Famous revolving restaurant. SkyCity sits atop Seattle’s most prominent landmark – The Space Needle!

I thought about this instantly when we spoke over the phone a couple of weeks ago and you expressed your desire to visit the Space Needle.

Get this, Wayne – SkyCity serves Pacific Northwest cuisine and features local seafood, steak, chicken, and vegetarian menu items. Wow…
Jeff Maxfield is the Executive Chef at SkyCity. He Is known for having his creations featured at the prestigious James Beard House in October 2013.

Jeff is a local so he’s committed to keeping SkyCity’s menu a regional-only option when it comes to the hand-picked menu options. Pacific Northwest…can’t go wrong there, right?

I’m going to let you in on a little secret, Wayne – I’ve never been to SkyCity.

I have been to the Observation deck – which, as I mentioned above, is located just above the restaurant.
(The view is magnificent!)

The Seattle skyline, Elliott Bay, The Puget Sound, and mountains on both sides. (if it’s a clear day, of course – with you coming in early August, the odds of a clear day are extremely good!)

A few days ago, as I was walking around the Seattle Center (which is where the Space Needle is located) and I found myself talking to a man and his wife near the large water fountain.
They had just finished eating dinner up at SkyCity and they told me this story while their eyes lit up the area around me.

The man said, “A Local resident, and frequent guest at SkyCity, discreetly put a note with a greeting to visitors on the window sill. (which is stable) Guests at all the tables could see this note as they slowly pass by it – they all proceeded to add their greetings and places of origin on the stationary note. Within an hour, the note was back with a most interesting diary of fellow diners for the guest. So – on top of an excellent meal, we left with quite a unique gift.”

What an awesome little memento, right? I loved the story – his excitement about the restaurant was evident by the tone in his voice and how his eyes appeared to be smiling.
Can you imagine dining on some of the best food on the west coast – while slowly rotating and getting a different view of the city every few minutes?!

How cool is that!?

I will tell you how cool it is:
It’s The Fonz type of cool!
It’s Miles Davis type of cool!
It’s having central air in your house during the month of July in Michigan type of cool!

You get my point, right?

I knew you would – which is why I’ve already made our reservations for the day after you arrive.

We will get you all settled the night you fly in. We can sit at my house, catch up a little, relax, and eventually catch some Z’s.
We will get rested up and go experience SkyCity the following night.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? I am excited!

I am looking forward to seeing you and especially looking forward to having another compelling and profound conversation with you at dinner – all while we take in the views of the beautiful Puget Sound region.

I will see you soon, my friend.

P.S. I almost forgot to tell you – with every dinner reservation – guests are given a complimentary ticket to visit the observation deck. So we can go up there after the dinner and feel that cool breeze high above the Seattle streets!
